Thelma and Louise Bookclub

Here, eventually, maybe we'll write the story of why this blog exists, but I just don't have time right now.

First book is Geneen Roth's Women, Food and God
Next book for you keeners: Like Water for Chocolate (chosen by @Streetlights94 for me, and I'm sharing! >MW)

  2. hooray for mrswhich who spent time she didn't have to get us rolling! i want you to know that 2 days this week, i have spent snatches of time transcribing the notes from the book into my computer. and do you know that just last night, amy oscar mentioned this very book, and i told her we had a pick-up book club going and did she want in and she asked how and i told her we weren't that far along yet. little did i know that our mrs which was on the case! seriously. less than 24 hours ago. which proves my mother right: great minds DO run together.

and i love it that ms streetlights herself has chosen our 2nd book and that you, our dear mrs which are sharing.

i see our thelma juice is already here and accounted for, and lew-ease got us started, and that's me there. the little ole bitty And in between. i love us.

now listen, i'm gonna be offline most of the time till next tuesday, so don't fret if i am not pulling my weight. i'm not awol, just tearing down walls.

  4. ps2: lew-ease, first of all, i just want you to know that i am not offended that i did not get capitalized.

secondly of all, is it okay to invite the ever-precious amy oscar? what about others? do we each invite one person? are we going public (lord help the public)? what's your plan?

and thirdly, i know, i know. if i keep this up, y'all will be arranging out of town/offline trips for me every week.

  6. Capitalization corrected, though of course, not capitalizing any of them would be more our style. Maybe I'll do that instead...you have admin privileges, our all-important And, so change anything you like!

  10. A sadly neglected club, on my part, I'm afraid! That old adage that if you want something done, you give it to a busy person? In this case, it didn't work. I've moved on to read book #2, but I'll try to get back here with some specific questions soon. In the meantime, I hope someone else will start a discussion on Women, Food and God - I'd love to join in!
